Bethel Green Outreach, Bunda - Mara Region, Tanzania

Our staff is exceptional.

There is opposition to what we are doing in Bunda. Our staff is always in danger, and work for modest wages. But they care about what they are doing and make an effort to provide the keys to success to each of our children.

Samwel Akelloh, Founding Director
My name is Samwel and I am 27 years old. I first got my diploma in pure and applied Science at Maseno University in 2014, later in 2015 I graduated from Sekhasa Mining Training Institute with a certificate in Mining Engineering. In 2015 I received a Teaching Certificate from Morogoro Vocational Teachers Training College.
I served as the College Principal at Lake Victoria Vocational Training Centre through 2017 when I founded Collins Training Centre and supported it with various business operations. I grew up in a very poor village but although often hungry, I learned much by watching how those in the village helped and cared for each other.
I determined to create a local community Open School that would offer easy and affordable secondary school and vocational education to various vulnerable children in the Bunda community. The name OPEN symbolizes the fact that it is open for all children regardless of the economic situations they come from.
I am a Christian and I would simply say that I know for an absolute certainty that God is real, that he loves me and everyone else, and that he really does hear and answer prayers. We really can talk to God and he really does answer. In putting this into context, Collins Open School has many co-curricular activities including prayer classes which contribute to the development of spirituality in school students. Collins Open School has daily prayer programs in making their trainees aware of importance of God in the life of an individual.
